A long time ago I should have started something for which this museum was planned – to make another mosaic window of one of the towns.
And today, on the line one of the farthest city in Russia, which I was lucky to visit. Nercinsk .
Small town, from which the Chinese and Mongolia borders about as much as our nearest large city – Chita.
It is a unique city …
Hardly now people know about it, but three years ago, his name was known almost all over the world: someone – as a major cultural center, others – like the city, where were signed the first Russian -Chinese border agreement. And someone just because it was a trading hub city, through which the goods from around the world were delivered.
1.
1.Perhaps about the days of former glory of the city tells well that there is Nerchinskaya street in St. Petersburg, Astrakhan, Vladivostok, Kaliningrad, Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk, Chita and Karaganda..
Although this is only an echo of what was Nerchisk a couple of centuries ago.
In Wikipedia you can read (you know about it for sure) that Nercinsk was a place of exile, and there “rested” from his feats Gregory Kotovskij. However, for some reason there was not written anything about the fact that Nercinsk for a long time have been the centre of gold miners.
Particularly Mikhail Dmitrievich Butin built in Nercinsk in the 60s of the 19th century palace, probably one of the most remarkable in the Mauritian-Gothic style.
The homestead occupied a city block, and naturally the house was a mahogany white-naped parquet, library in four languages, sculptures, spiral staircases, well, and other things.
I almost forgot, inside of Burin’s palace was exhibited the world’s largest mirror area of 18.5 square metres, which was brought from the Paris Exhibition in 1878, on a specially constructed ship for its transportation along the Northern Sea Route .
And it is not only a “very large mirror at the end of the 19 century”, up until now it is the world’s largest flat mirror.
(anything bigger is only made for telescopes)
It goes without saying that this palace was built for some reason and there were held balls and appointments in the presence of a large number of merchants, traveling around the world (by the way, Butin himself was awarded a medal of the Russian Geographical Society), could not help reflecting on the wooden architecture?
It’s not a big surprise that in such a small town
(Nowadays Nercinsk has less than 15,000 inhabitants), he saved his own, and now recognizable windows frames style?
You can compare them with those from Chita, also from Irkutsk, but do not need to be an architect to feel the difference.
However it’s meaningless to tell! Better to see and enjoy the beauty of Nerchinsk’s windows frames in silence.
And so here I will leave you.
At the end there are a couple of words about classification of windows frames left for you.
And do not forget when you exit the museum return the booties ;)
Oh, I forgot to add – you wont find window frames like this anywhere else … except again Nerchinsk which is below.
I did not want to leave realizing the fact that a few thousand probably miles around, it is the most beautiful and the most carved windows frame …
Although that one was not the last in this style.
At the end – a couple of words about already familiar classification.
