Small balconies like this one, under the very roof, are rather few. What I have noticed is that when a place does not have any long history of carved window frames, porches etc, those locals who still does it opt for some simple, non-intricate pattern. But then, they have no rivals!
This small balcony is hardly the only one I found in the Kashin, Tver Oblast, and it is rather pretty! At first, it seemed to me its columns are entirely different, the right one decorated with some carved flower. Yet one more inquisitive look told me that it was just a front plate turned at 45°
