Once in Perm, I saw these three boarded window frames.
At first sight – just window frames with shutters, boarded from bad people. But have a closer look at the pattern behind the shutters, and you will see… beetles, huge beetles with very long whiskers!

Ornate wooden window frames and carved cornice
It is strange why some things and event can imprint themselves in one’s mind…
Yes, I traveled to tens of Russian cities and towns where I had seen thousands of wooden houses. But my trip to Kostroma is a very special and warm memory – so good was the company I shared :))
I wish you always have a god company – whatever you do, whenever you do!
Green shutters from Krasnodar
In some places, you can try as you might, you’ll never find a single wooden house. But in some, houses are there, but they their windows do not have any frames.
Well, Krasnodar is one of these last ones.
My three days of exploration resulted in only three framed windows, and this one seems to be the most pretentious!

Chita wooden lace
Chita is one of the remotest cities where I happened to take photos of decorated windows. Before my trip, I was looking through the photos available on the Internet, and yet doubted if six and half hours of flight would bring me more pieces of tradition russian wooden architecture.
But my doubts turned out to be for nothing: Moscow and Saint-Petersburg are a far cry from Chita!
